Nosology of the Human Condition

New in 2026

It’s been awhile since I’ve sat down to write, but the words have been pouring themselves into the pages of my new book coming out in 2026. Nosology of the Human Condition: Understanding Mental Health through the Lens of Modern Science is a reference work that traverses the history of the DSM and current scientific literature, merging the science with the fiction. This critical analysis of the exploitation of the traits that make us inherently human will give you a reason to think more deeply about how we have classified mental illness and what we need to do to improve upon that system. This book will be worth the read for anyone interested in mental health or who wants a deeper understanding of what makes us who we are.

This book is inspired by all of the clients that I have worked with through the years as we have journeyed together through their challenges and the impact that science, psychology, and our social world have played in their lives. The struggle to properly name those challenges in a way that makes logical sense has often been difficult. This scholarly work is my attempt to reasonably define the human condition.
